SAN FRANCISCO, CA — On September 12, FS Vector’s John Collins will speak at the Cato Institute’s Fourth Annual Summit on Financial Regulation, where leading policy experts and regulators will discuss key issues concerning technology and financial services.
Technology is transforming the financial-services industry, reaching underserved communities, lowering the cost of banking and increasing access to capital. Finding the balance between protecting consumers through regulations and accommodating innovation will be key for continued change in the industry.
As a seasoned expert on regulatory and legislative policy change in this industry, John Collins will speak on a panel of experts on fintech, payments and cryptocurrency. Collins previously served as Head of Policy at Coinbase and cofounded the First State Fintech Lab, a nonprofit focused on bolstering the fintech ecosystem in the state of Delaware. During his time as a senior staffer in the United States Senate, he organized the first Congressional hearing on cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
