IT & Information Security Associate
FS Vector is a strategic consulting firm that works with financial services clients in a rapidly evolving industry and regulatory environment. Summary of Position
We are seeking an IT & Information Security Associate to join our growing team. This is FS Vector’s first dedicated internal IT and information security hire, a high-impact role that will shape how the firm manages technology, protects data, and leverages AI. You will serve as the central point of contact between the firm and our outsourced Managed Service Provider (MSP), own the SOC 2 readiness initiative, drive the migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, and contribute to the firm’s emerging AI strategy.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced advisory environment and wants to build an IT function from the ground up.
Responsibilities
MSP Oversight & Day-to-Day IT Operations
- Serve as the primary internal liaison to the outsourced MSP, managing SLAs, escalations, and service quality.
- Oversee device provisioning, deprovisioning, and lifecycle management for all employees and contractors across three offices.
- Monitor and triage IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and identifying recurring issues.
- Coordinate with the MSP on network infrastructure, firewall management, endpoint protection, and patch management.
- Evaluate MSP performance and recommend adjustments to scope or vendors as the firm’s needs evolve.
SOC 2 Readiness & Compliance
- Drive the in process SOC 2 Type II readiness project with a target completion by end of 2026.
- Conduct gap assessments against SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria and develop remediation plans.
- Draft, implement, and maintain IT and security policies, procedures, and controls (access management, incident response, change management, etc.).
- Coordinate with external auditors and consultants throughout the readiness and audit process.
- Establish and maintain evidence collection processes for ongoing compliance.
IT & InfoSec Roadmap
- Maintain and update the firm’s IT and information security strategic roadmap, aligning technology investments with business objectives with support from the MSP and internal leadership
- Support the development and tracking of IT policies for a hybrid workforce, including BYOD, remote access, and acceptable use.
- Assist in the Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migration (targeted for mid-2026), including email, calendar, file storage, and collaboration tool cutover.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement for IT software and hardware.
AI Strategy & Enablement
- Contribute to the firm’s internal AI strategy, including governance, acceptable use policies, and security considerations.
- Support the rollout and administration of Claude Enterprise and other AI tools across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI for internal operations, knowledge management, and client delivery workflows.
- Stay current on AI security risks, data privacy implications, and emerging best practices for enterprise AI adoption.

Skills & Qualifications
- 3–6 years of progressive experience in IT operations, systems administration, or information security.
- Hands-on experience managing relationships with MSPs or outsourced IT service providers.
- Working knowledge of SOC 2 compliance frameworks and security controls (or equivalent frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Azure AD / Entra ID, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Familiarity with endpoint management platforms (e.g., Intune, Jamf) and identity/access management tools.
- Understanding of network security fundamentals, including firewalls, VPNs, and zero-trust architecture concepts.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or financial services environments is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISA, or Microsoft 365 certifications preferred but not required.
- Prior experience leading or contributing to a SOC 2 audit process is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud migration projects (Google Workspace to M365 preferred).
- Interest or experience in enterprise AI tools, LLM platforms, and AI governance is a plus.
