Alex Monié
Alex is a Principal in FS Vector’s Government Relations team, focusing on tax and regulatory policy.
Prior to joining FS Vector, Alex was Senior Advisor of Tax and Oversight in the United States Department of the Treasury’s Office of Legislative Affairs. He was responsible for advising on the formulation and strategy of legislative policy and a key liaison to Capitol Hill and the stakeholder community on tax policy initiatives. He worked with policymakers, congressional staff, and Treasury staff to pass and implement the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. He also worked closely with the Treasury General Counsel Office and Department on administrative oversight requests. Alex also has extensive insight into the nomination process, supporting nominees such as the Internal Revenue Service Commissioner, the Chair of the Federal Reserve, and The Treasury Deputy Secretary through the United State Senate confirmation process.
Before Treasury, Alex led the tax policy portfolio for the National Association of Manufacturers where he was responsible for the development and execution of the organization's tax policy priorities, strategic campaigns, and led a number of policy coalitions. While at the NAM, Alex was key in securing the introduction of several pieces of legislation that would go on to be enacted in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act as well as preparing dozens of NAM members to testify before Congress and engage at political events.
On the Hill, Alex served on the Ways and Means Committee under Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) and as Professional Staff on the Senate Finance Committee Subcommittee on Taxation and IRS under Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) during the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. He also served in the personal offices of Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) and Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA). He was also a Policy Advisor at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Public Administration from Mississippi State University and resides full-time in Washington, D.C.
