Tom Gentle

Tom is a Principal in FS Vector’s Advisory practice, where he works at the intersection of financial crime compliance, digital assets, and emerging technology. He advises banks, fintechs, and blockchain companies on BSA/AML and sanctions, bringing an operator’s perspective shaped by building and running compliance functions inside high-growth crypto companies.

Tom also leads FS Vector’s AI governance work, helping financial institutions build AI governance frameworks, assess their readiness to deploy AI, and test AI systems before regulators and bad actors do. He additionally advises clients on state data privacy laws and GDPR.

Prior to joining FS Vector, Tom was the Compliance Officer at Quadrata, a blockchain identity and compliance company. Before that, he helped build and lead Coinbase’s global BSA/AML and Sanctions Quality Assurance team. He began his career in financial crime compliance roles at Boston Private and Needham Bank.

Tom holds a B.Sc. in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
