Mississippi and Maine to Adopt ESBs Sept. 1

Effective September 1, the Mississippi Department of Banking and Consumer Finance and the Maine Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection will begin accepting Electronic Surety Bonds (ESB) through NMLS for select license types.
Mississippi
New ESB submissions will be required for the following license type:
- Pawnbroker Company License
Maine
Both existing licensees and new applicants will be able to submit ESBs for the following license types:
- Money Transmitter License
- Supervised Lender License
- Loan Broker License
- Debt Collector
- Full and Limited Service Payroll Processor
- Debt Management Service Provider Registration
- Non-Profit Lender License (same bond form as the Supervised Lender License)
