Ashwin Vasan

Ashwin Vasan is a Partner at FS Vector, where he works with banks, fintech companies, and technology platforms on regulatory strategy, government engagement, and long-term market positioning. He advises executive teams navigating complex supervisory environments, emerging technologies, digital assets, payments, lending, and banking-as-a-service models, helping clients align growth strategy with policy risk management and durable institutional credibility.

He previously served as Associate Director of Research, Monitoring, and Regulations at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), where he oversaw the Bureau’s core policy development functions—including research, market monitoring, major public reports, and rulemaking. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Capital One and McKinsey & Company, advising financial institutions on strategy, growth, and risk.

Ashwin earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School, an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, and an A.B. from Harvard College.
